button, button, who's got the button?

Another great swap hosted by Strawberry at Art42 - chunky page with button theme. Here's mine

I covered the board pages with paint dabber, sprayed it with water and swirled the pant to blend the colors. Then scraped colored gesso over a circle stencil (Thanks Dyan Reavely for this fabulous idea :-). I set grommets in three places and "sewed" the buttons in place with wax thread

Each one is anchored on the back with another button, which gives a little visual interest on the back too. The quotes I grabbed from online, put them in stamp fonts from dafont, and printed them out. Aged them a big with distressed inks.

Thanks for hosting Strawberry! Always a pleasure.

Inchie Primo

Haven't done many inchies before, but this was very fun. I spent some quality time going through magazines (constructive activity while watching telly) and cut out interesting patterns and shapes and backed them with card stock. Then used glaze pens to highlight and brighten.
(Sorry so dark - morning light and Blackberries do not make great photos)

DEFINE: Inchie - 1" x 1" piece of art. See more at the all in an inch blog

Driveway project

Yesterday the kids and I had our way with some card stock and spray inks. Jaime gathered stones in her baseball mitt and dutifully anchored each page.

Now what to do with these...
